The 3 Angels Messages of Revelation 14

The Three Angels’ Messages: God’s Final Call to a Dying World

Introduction: Heaven’s Final Proclamation

In the closing scenes of Scripture, amid the thunder of prophecy and the trembling of the earth, three angels are seen flying “in the midst of heaven,” bearing messages from the throne of God to the people of the last days.

“Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people.”
Revelation 14:6 (NIV)

These three proclamations are not ordinary announcements. They are the final warning and invitation to humanity before the return of Christ — heaven’s last message of mercy mingled with judgment.
In their call to worship, obedience, and faith, the Three Angels’ Messages form the heart of the final gospel movement before the end of the age.

Revelation 14:6–12 — The Three Angels’ Messages

The First Angel’s Message

6. Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—

7. saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

The Second Angel’s Message

8. And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

The Third Angel’s Message

9. Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,

10. he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

11. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

12. Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Summary of the Three Angels’ Messages

  • 1st Angel: Calls the world to worship the Creator and announces that the hour of God’s judgment has come (Revelation 14:6–7).

  • 2nd Angel: Declares the fall of Babylon — symbolic of false religious systems and spiritual confusion (Revelation 14:8).

  • 3rd Angel: Warns against worshiping the beast or receiving his mark and highlights the faithfulness of God’s people (Revelation 14:9–12).

1. The First Angel’s Message – The Everlasting Gospel and the Call to Worship

“Fear God, and Give Glory to Him”

Revelation 14: 6–7

“Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”
Revelation 14:7 (NKJV)

A Message of Eternal Good News

The first angel carries the “everlasting gospel” — the same message that has offered salvation since Eden. It is a reminder that redemption is found in Christ alone, and it must be proclaimed “to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.”

This angel’s message is universal — it transcends race, culture, and borders. It is heaven’s invitation to return to the Creator before judgment falls.

A Call to Reverence and Glory

To “fear God” does not mean terror, but reverent awe, submission, and trust. To “give Him glory” is to reflect His character in our lives. This message calls for repentance, humility, and worship in truth.

It is also a solemn declaration: “The hour of His judgment has come.”
This refers to God’s investigative judgment — the time when every life stands before His throne, and eternal destinies are sealed (Daniel 7:9–10; Ecclesiastes 12:13–14).

A Return to True Worship

The command to “worship Him who made heaven and earth” echoes the fourth commandment of Exodus 20:11 — a direct reminder that God is the Creator, and the Sabbath is the sign of His creative authority.

“For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them.”
Exodus 20:11 (KJV)

Lesson: The first angel’s message restores true worship and calls humanity back to the Creator, urging the world to stand in reverence before the God who made all things.

2. The Second Angel’s Message – The Fall of Babylon

“Babylon Is Fallen, Is Fallen”

Revelation 14:8

“Another angel followed, saying, ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.’”
Revelation 14:8 (NKJV)

The Symbol of Babylon

“Babylon” represents spiritual confusion and false religion. Just as ancient Babylon mixed truth with idolatry, modern spiritual Babylon symbolizes apostate systems that have turned from the purity of God’s Word.

“Babylon the great is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils.”
Revelation 18:2 (KJV)

This fall is moral and spiritual — not physical. It marks the rejection of God’s truth and the embrace of human traditions, counterfeit worship, and worldly compromise.

The Wine of False Doctrine

Babylon’s “wine” represents deceptive teachings that intoxicate the nations — ideas that dull spiritual senses and lead souls away from the truth of Scripture. These include false teachings about God’s law, the nature of sin, and the means of salvation.

Just as Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon sought to control conscience through idolatry, end-time Babylon compels worship contrary to God’s commandments (Daniel 3:1–18).

The Call to Come Out

Later, in Revelation 18:4, a voice from heaven declares:

Come out of her, My people, lest you share in her sins.”

Even amid apostasy, God’s mercy reaches out to His children still trapped in systems of deception. His call is urgent: Leave spiritual confusion and return to the pure Word of God.

Lesson: The second angel’s message warns against religious corruption and invites God’s people to separate from every form of false worship.

3. The Third Angel’s Message – Warning Against the Mark of the Beast

“If Anyone Worships the Beast and His Image”

Revelation 14: 9–12

“Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, ‘If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God.’”
Revelation 14:9–10 (NKJV)

The Final Conflict: Worship and Allegiance

The third angel delivers the most solemn warning in all of Scripture. It describes the final conflict between the worship of the true God and the worship of the beast — between the seal of God and the mark of human authority.

The beast represents a religious-political power that seeks to replace God’s authority with its own (Daniel 7:25; Revelation 13:1–8). Its image is a counterfeit system of worship that mirrors its principles.
The mark symbolizes loyalty to this false system — receiving it on the forehead (belief) or hand (action) signifies acceptance either intellectually or by compliance.

The Wrath of God and Eternal Consequences

This warning is accompanied by the “wine of the wrath of God,” poured out without mercy. It shows that the final decision of humanity will be irreversible. Those who align with the beast choose rebellion against the Creator.

Yet even in this solemn moment, mercy shines through — because the warning itself is an act of love. God sends it so that none may perish in deception.

The Character of the Faithful

The third angel’s message concludes with a portrait of the redeemed:

“Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.”
Revelation 14:12 (NKJV)

These faithful ones stand loyal to God’s law and cling to the faith of Jesus — not in self-righteousness, but through grace-empowered obedience.

Lesson: The third angel’s message reveals the ultimate choice — between the worship of the Creator and the counterfeit. True faith is shown by loving obedience to God’s commandments through Christ’s strength.

4. The Unity of the Three Messages – The Final Gospel Call

The Three Angels’ Messages are not three separate warnings but one united message of redemption and restoration.

  • The first restores true worship and proclaims the everlasting gospel.

  • The second exposes false systems that have led people astray.

  • The third warns against deception and calls for enduring faithfulness to Christ.

Together, they prepare the world for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which immediately follows in Revelation 14:14–16 — the harvest of the earth.

“Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown.”
Revelation 14:14 (NKJV)

Lesson: The Three Angels’ Messages form the last divine call before the harvest — the final plea of love before Jesus returns.

Conclusion: The Final Warning of Love

In the last days, when darkness deepens and deception multiplies, the voice of God’s messengers still echoes:

“Fear God, and give glory to Him.”

The Three Angels’ Messages are not messages of fear — they are messages of grace and truth, calling the world back to loyalty, worship, and love for the Creator.
They reveal a God who warns because He loves, who calls because He longs to save.

Every soul will ultimately make a choice — between truth and error, Christ and the beast, the seal of God and the mark of man.
Those who respond to heaven’s call will stand with the Lamb on Mount Zion (Revelation 14:1–5), clothed in white, singing the song of redemption.

“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
Matthew 24:14 (KJV)

Final Lesson: The Three Angels’ Messages are God’s last love letters to a rebellious planet — a call to return, to worship, to believe, and to endure until He comes.
